Reviews
Very nice place, cozy, clean and organized; it is in reasonable walk distance from downtown and train station. The staff is very friendly and breakfast was delicious.
We had an issue with the elevator noise on the older side of the hotel but they accommodated our request and our room was changed very promptly.
Did not have time to enjoy the pool but it was clean and ready all days.
Very recommended.
The hotel had a great view from our room and the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant and by the pool were very kind and helpful. It was also conveniently located but that’s about the only positives I can note. The room itself was acceptable but not as described. My husband and I had booked a queen/full size bed but unfortunately got two twin beds that they had been pushed together. The beds were also very hard. The shower door was off the tracks and the water did not drain causing water to come overtop our feet. When these concerns were brought to the front desk they mentioned that they were at capacity and there was nothing they could do. Additionally we were woken up each morning around 6:30AM because the hotel restaurant is on the fifth floor and our room was on the fourth floor. They serve breakfast for all guests each morning. Unfortunately, no sound proofing was done and we could hear every chair scrapping and footsteps above us. Again, these concerns were brought to the front desk and we were given the same nonchalant response. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This was a poor ending to our honeymoon experience.
Not the best experience I’ve ever had…. Only a short stroll to the centre of town, not much good to say after that.. The reception staff seemed disinterested although the breakfast service staff were excellent.
Our room was in an adjacent building, first floor on the road side so extremely noisy and couldn’t open the windows because of the exhaust fumes. It felt like we could have been at the Grand Prix.. They were fully booked so they said it would be impossible to get an alternative room.
There was no tea/coffee facilities in our room and when we asked for a kettle we were told they didn’t have any “spares”
I certainly wouldn’t recommend.
I spent four nights in this hotel during my trip to the Amalfi Coast during August 2023. This hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the main train station (keep this in mind when walking with luggage and 27 degree weather). The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento. I booked the hotel through the website and got a free upgrade with a balcony and pool-view (the price was doubled if we booked through booking.com). The room was big and spacious. Unfortunately the room had no air-conditioning, we were a bit annoyed at this since temperatures were 27-38 degrees. I'm from Ireland so there was a huge difference in weather. We comprimised by opening the window to the balcony during the day and night. The pool was big, it was nice to cool down after a long day of travelling around the Amalfi Coast. The breakfast area was fab, amazing views of the sea. The staff were helpful and spoke English fluently. The only thing that was upsetting is when I checked out of the hotel I walked down to the centre of Sorrento, realised I didn't pack my valubles (4 rings and a necklace, they were of high sentimental value and were worth over €500). I asked the hotel could I check the room to see were they there, they let me check the room but the cleaner already cleaned the room. She was more than helpful trying to help me find my valubles, the hotel even checked the laundry room to find them, but unfortunately they weren't found.
I felt very safe in this hotel. I would totally recommend this hotel to friends and family visiting Italy.
I don’t usually write reviews for hotels, but this hotel deserves way better reviews than ehat it has. The staff is so kind, helpful and accommodating, always with a smile on their face. The location is great, just walking distance from everywhere you would like to go in Sorrento. It is located on the main road, and most of the people in Sorrento drive scooters and motorcycles so I imagine that the rooms that face the street will probably hear street noise, so I definitely do recommend the rooms that face the pool. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very traditionally italian, I particularly loved the colour palette and the floor tile.
I read a lot of reviews about this hotel before booking and I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt since most reviews sounded pretty snobby, and I’m glad I did, cause my stay there was absolutely amazing.
This hotel is not a 4-star hotel. If you pay more than 100 euros or $100, you’re being ripped off. Our room and bathroom had mold and management was unwilling to help. It’s a bit far from downtown, too, but not too bad, hence the 2 stars on location. I believe they gave some of the hotel a facelift but the rest hasn’t been touched in several decades, and not in a charming way. The AC wasn’t the best and the room is microscopic. The bed was two single beds pushed together and felt like sleeping on concrete. Pool is old and decrepit. Elevator is sketchy, too. Choose elsewhere.
Update: day-time management moved us to another room.
My room was like a dorm room. The bed was two twin beds pushed together. In the bathroom, there was no lotion, no hair conditioner, just a combo bodywash/shampoo in a plastic tray. The room was noisy, the traffic zooming by just feet from my window. Additionally, you could hear every word spoken by anyone in the lobby or in the hallway. The furniture was a cheap white school desk and a small wardrobe. The tiny TV had a remote that was held together with tape. The bar only had 1 white wine, their "house" wine. This is not a 4-star hotel. This hotel is also the farthest from the shopping area of all the hotels.
Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour in late September and was SO DISAPPOINTED. First, the lobby is clean and bright and looked very nice, but once you get to the room, you are in for a rude awakening. The beds are like sleeping on the floor and our’s actually slanted down toward the headboard. Upon discussing with fellow travelers, their rooms were just a bad, if not worse. It should also be noted that you have no control over the air conditioning - the reception desk does. We were located on the 4th floor and could never get cool air (even after calling multiple times) and finally relied on opening our balcony door to get cool air, while other travelers located on the main floor were freezing. The pool was also green. As for food, we did enjoy breakfast here - it was surprising well stocked with a great variety of options including scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurts, fresh fruit & juices, pastries and more. Wish I could say more positive things about this hotel, but it was just not what we experienced at other “4-star” hotels we enjoyed during our trip to Italy.
